Regarded as one of the most beautiful actresses ever, Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. Though born in Belgium she had a British citizenship. Her original name was Edda Kathleen van Heemstra Hepburn-Ruston..

She studied ballet in school and later took acting classes and began to get some small film roles. Her first major acting role was in the Broadway play Gigi in 1951.

Hepburn's first major American film, "Roman Holiday" (1953), won her the Academy Award for best actress. She married co-actor Mel Ferrer, with whom she starred in the play Ondine, in 1954.

Audrey Hepburn's other notable films include, "Sabrina" (1954), "The Nun's Story" (1959), "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961), "Charade" (1963), "My Fair Lady" (1964) and "Wait Until Dark" (1967).

She divorced her first husband Mel Ferrer 1968 and married Andrea Dotti, a prominent Italian psychiatrist, and went into semi-retirement.

She returned to films in 1976 and appeared in a few movies. In 1988 she was appointed as a special goodwill ambassador for United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and devoted herself to her humanitarian work. Audrey Hepburn passed away on January 20, 1993, Tolochenaz, Switzerland, at the age of 63.

Today is her birthday, so let's wish a Happy Birthday to her memory! :happybday3: :happybday1: :happybday2: :happybday4:
