Did anyone watch this show during its original run? Was it any good? I don't think it ever aired in Sweden, unfortunately. Dynasty sure did though and was very popular.

I'm not a fan of soap operas, in fact I can't stand most of them. However, knowing that Chuck was in one of them, I would definitely watch it and most likely enjoy it. If the two seasons of The Colby's ever gets a release on DVD, I'll buy the season sets in a heartbeat.

My wife did, as a matter of fact she watched all of the different ones. She said Mr. Heston was different in his role not what you would expect from a family man like him.

Interesting. One day I'll have to get the season set of Dynasty where he appeared in a couple of episodes before his character got his own spin-off, which of course was The Colby's.

We never missed an episode of THE COLBY'S.
It was far better than DYNASTY and had a superior cast; Heston, Stanwyck, etc.

It's too bad it got cancelled so fast, only ran for two seasons. I read that at the time, Heston was the best paid actor in television. Well deserved, I reckon.

Yes, a pity Thorn. THE COLBY'S was a hoot, and the space ship finale was a hoot. My wife and kids loved it!

I've read about that, too. Sounds extremely bizarre. I bet Heston was pissed about that episode.

I'm pretty sure I watched a few episodes, but can't seem to jog my memory about these. The only scene I remember is Heston's character outside his home, getting pissed about something, and flinging a drink (the glass) over the edge of a cliff into the ocean. I think he got some bad news. But, this may have been the early intro episodes on Dynasty.

The whole spaceship ending does sound bizarre - I'm curious now. There's some kind of news on YouTube that full episodes may be available soon:

And, here is Heston accepting a People's Choice Award for the show:

Thanks for the acceptance speech video, Chrysagon. Makes me wonder what the hell happened to the show. I mean it won the People's Choice Awards, then the next year it was cancelled. Heston seemed proud of the show back then, but decided not to even mention it in his biography and according to someone he once said that he did the show mainly because of the big paycheck.

Anyone know if Dynasty has gotten all of its seasons released? Maybe we'll get The Colby's once that show has been fully released.
