Chuck's wax-image(as Moses) at the Madame Tussaud, with a fan posing in front of it.

Which Tussaud is that? I see John Wayne in the background as his character Rooster Cogburn in True Grit, which he won an Oscar for.

The link says that it is the Tussaud at Hollywood. No other information.

Thanks, I was hoping it was in London, which I've visited four summers in a row now. I've only been to the one in New York and that didn't have one of Heston at that time, sadly.

Rare photos, Heston posing with his own wax-statue in the character of General Gordon, at Madame Tussaud again, but which Tussaud I don't know. The pics can't be copied, so please view through links-

Nice find! Looks like it's from the late 60's/early 70's.

The photos of the Heston's posing with his General Gordon wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London were taken on Wednesday 8 June 1966. The next day KHARTOUM premiered at the Casino Cinerama theatre in London. KHARTOUM closed at this cinema on Wednesday 8 March 1967 after 39 weeks.
My father and I gave the manager a terrible fright there. We went downstairs to buy a programme and when we stood outside his office, he was putting some of the takings in a safe. He looked aghast at us two stood at his door and was very relieved when we just asked to buy a programme. "Good grief - I thought it was a hold-up!" he gasped , and we all had a good laugh.

Other Heston movies that played at this beautiful cinema were
THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD (Thur 8 April - Wed 21 July 1965) 15 weeks
BEN-HUR (26 Dec 1969 - 6 May 1970) 19 weeks
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (Tue 18 July - Wed 27 Sep 1972) 10 weeks

Thanks a lot, Mr Byrne, for the valuable information. Can you tell me how many characters(I mean wax-images)played by Heston stand in the Tussaud at London? Will it be possible for you kindly to take snaps of the other images and post them here, in case you visit the place with time at hand?

Heston as General Gordon was the only occasion when he was a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London. I had my photo taken next to it in 1966, but its long been lost, I'm afraid.
The actual Heston waxwork wasn't all that good, either, and it was melted down years ago. Those photos that you posted are all that remains of it.
