Was going to post something similar in regard to NUMBER ONE, since both former football players Roy Jenson and Mike Henry had parts in it. Henry went on to appear with Heston in both SKYJACKED and SOYLENT GREEN. Jenson was the guy who got hit over the head with the frying pan by Chuck in WILL PENNY. He also showed up in SOYLENT GREEN.

Speaking of Soylent Green :soylent: ... Chuck Connors was in The Big Country, but I'm not sure he and Chuck Heston had any scenes together - seems like a missed opportunity, if so. Then Connors was in Soylent Green and they definitely had scenes together... including a couple of fight scenes :punch: . A couple of Chucks means a lot of bang for the buck, eh? :comegetsome:

Seems we're off to a good start, fellas. Perhaps I should add the names and movies in my original post, and update it as the list grows longer?

That's one way to do it, Det Thorn.

Just thought of another one - an obvious one because he was in back-to-back films with Heston:
George Kennedy, in Airport '75 and Earthquake.

btw, I misspelled the other Chuck's name above - I changed it to the correct "Connors" - not Conners.

Aw shucks, you outshine me, CHfan2010! I was about to post James Coburn list! Though you missed one movie they did together, The Avenging Angel, a TV-movie from 1995.

Anyway, thanks for these, I'll add them to my original post ASAP.

I will also add Ava Gardner who starred opposite Heston in 55 Days at Peking and Earthquake.

OK, I'm on a roll - I got three:

uno: Jack Palance was in Arrowhead and then, many years later, it was... Solar Crisis!
---- (though, again, I don't think he had any scenes with Heston in the later one)

dos: Anne Baxter - in Three Violent People and The Ten Commandments, in the same year :o

and
tres: a more obscure one -- Ed Nelson; he was in Airport '75 and Midway.

Bruce Dern - in Will Penny and Number One

Joe Canutt, Yak's son, was Chuck's main stunt double from BEN-HUR through his semi-retirement in the mid 1970's. He worked on most of Chuck's films during these years, sometimes playing bit parts (most notably the human Chuck fights in the cage in the original PLANET OF THE APES film).

Can also add the great character actor Anthony Zerbe (WILL PENNY, THE OMEGA MAN) to the list.
