Welcome to the third bimonthly newsletter of the Charlton Heston Forums, bringing you the latest news on Charlton Heston and the forum you’re all members of.

GENERAL CHARLTON HESTON NEWS

*The US Legends of Hollywood postal stamp featuring Charlton Heston is now available for sale here: https://store.usps.com/store/browse/pro ... d=S_471804

You get a sheet of 20 stamps for 9.80 dollars.

DVD & BLU-RAY NEWS

*The War Lord has been released on Blu-ray in the UK and DVDBeaver gave it a great review of it, which can now be found here: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film3/dvd_revi ... r_lord.htm

Unfortunately, there were no more bonus features other than those mentioned in the previous newsletter.

*55 Days At Peking has also been released in the UK by Anchor Bay since the last newsletter. The only special feature on it is a restoration comparison bit that runs for a few minutes with no sound. There’s no info that I’ve found which mentions if it has the same transfer as the French release. Since there is an added bonus feature on the English Blu-ray, completists (like myself) may want to get both.

You can order your copy of the Anchor Bay release here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/55-Days-At-Peki ... 15&sr=8-1&

*Americans can now get Touch of Evil on Blu-ray without importing it from the UK. The Blu-ray seems to be identical to the UK one. Same special features and same picture and audio quality according to reviews from Blu-ray.com.

You can order your copy here: http://www.amazon.com/Touch-Evil-Limite ... 81&sr=1-1&

NEW SOUNDTRACK RELEASES

*One of Heston’s least favorite movies among fans, Solar Crisis, has just been released as a part of Intrada’s Special Collection Volume. There are 16 tracks and it runs 68:13 minutes.

To order your copy and listen to free samples, visit this link: http://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.A/id.8752/.f

NEW/CURRENT TOPICS ON THE CHARLTON HESTON FORUMS

*In the last newsletter, I mentioned the thought of creating a new subforum for other favorite actors and actresses of yours. I created a poll with a Yes and No option. The Yes side won and the new subforum is now created with several threads for actors already created. The following are just a few of the created threads in the new subforum.

Discuss James Stewart: james-stewart-t524.html

Discuss Sean Connery: sean-connery-t531.html

Discuss Marlon Brando: marlon-brando-t529.html

Discuss John Wayne: john-wayne-t526.html

Discuss Gregory Peck: gregory-peck-t525.html

ANNOUNCEMENTS

*James Byrne’s terrific fansite dedicated to Secret of the Incas is closing down. On May 19th, it expires and will no longer be available to view. Fortunately, with his permission, I’ve print screened the whole website from top to bottom and have saved each and every picture that was uploaded to the fansite. In the near future, all content will be uploaded on the forum so that James’ site lives on in some form.

You can still view the fansite for a few more days over at: http://secretoftheincas.co.uk/

That concludes the third Bimonthly Newsletter from the Charlton Heston Forums. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you around the forums.

Sincerely/Your Damned Dirty Admin

The recently released British 55 DAYS AT PEKING dvd is beautiful quality - the best one I've got (I have bought five from different parts of the world) so it is a bargain at that price. The only thing wrong with it is the really boring dvd cover!

Yes, James. The French Blu-ray looks way better.
