I'm hear to share. I won't let your thread run empty, brother Thorn!

1.At one point, Cody says about his antagonist, "I've never known Yellow hand to lie or go back on his word". One sentence , but how it shows both their characters. Cody is one who can admire a rival's good qualities. My regret about the movie is that the final fight between Cody and Yellow Hand is not as well-depicted as it should have been. I think Chuck's talent for such sequences is not properly used here... blame to the script and the director.

2. One amusing moment: Chuck stops the stagecoach and introduces himself to Wild Bill Hickock, who gives his name in turn.
Then Chuck(Cody); "Nope, you're not that ugly." The way Chuck at first says his name also strikes me for a comparative study. "I'm Buffalo Bill Cody" is different from "My name is Christopher" or "I am a Hebrew" or That great "I am Judah Ben Hur" in front of Pilate. This man knows how appropriately to introduce himself in his several roles.

3. When Evelyn says that she can never thank Cody well enough, Cody's reply is-- "Sure you can if you want to". I like that in a larger context about human conduct and desire. Surely we say 'sorry' or 'thanks' so often, but how many of us are really eager to to good?

Buffalo Bill Cody (Heston) is captured by Indians, led by his nemesis, Yellow Hand.
Yellow Hand had previously invited Cody to a fight to the death...

Cody to Yellow Hand: "I've decided to accept your invitation."

Yellow Hand: "Cody lies!"

Cody: "Yeah... that's right. I was gonna set fire to the brush.. try to burn you out."

Yellow Hand: "Now Cody Speak Truth!"

Cody: "I suppose it's too late for the invitation to hold..."
