Great to have a new member to this forum .... and someone in the same age bracket as me!
Welcome, General Gordon. My 40 year old son was always borrowing my KHARTOUM dvd so one day I bought him a brand new one ... just to save him the trouble.

With the risk of sounding like a teenage girl - NO WAAAAAAAY?! :o

Man, I would have failed that kid on the spot.

Now, Now, Detective Thorn; we must remember that the young are ignorant, not stupid (well, maybe). As Butt-head once said to Beavis, "Some people are just stupid Beavis." It was my job, after all, to inform this high school sophomore (!) that the world was indeed in color before his eyes opened. Quite a shock to him. After all, the world revolves around the Millennials....just ask them.

Believe me had I been teaching college I would have toasted him in front of his peers. Unfortunately public school teachers have to coddle them all. That's part of what's troubling education...the kids are never wrong, so the administrators tell us.

The lot of them wouldn't know a great actor or great film (I'm overusing the word 'great' as do they) without being led to them by their collective noses.

Regarding the kid issue, it suddenly strikes me-- do we know any story involving child-fans of Chuck? I always love to collect memoirs and annecdotes regarding great people and famous artists, and some of the stories with a kid-fan are extremely touching and beautiful. Their innocent and genuine compliments are to be treasured by anybody. But i have not yet come across any kid-fan's account about Chuck.

I just preordered the Twilight Time Blu-ray of Khartoum. A bit pricey at $29.99, but it should look amazing in HD and in the proper wider ratio.
