I'm glad someone enjoyed this thread - it sure is big enuff (just kidding - I know this does have at least a couple of fans). Reading through the whole thing all at once must be quite an experience (realize that it wasn't all composed on one day).

I kept planning to start a second one, a 2nd thread featuring another alternate timeline of Heston's career, but it just seems too daunting at this time; besides, it may be too much of a good thing, as the saying goes.

You know what I've always thought would have been very interesting to see?

Charlton Heston and Cannon Films teaming up for a bunch of films, like Charles Bronson's relationship with them during the 80's. Both were about the same age and both of them had lost a bit of their starpower they enjoyed in the 70's. While Heston moved towards the TV-industry, where Charles Bronson had spent a considerable amount of time earlier in his career (and would return to in his last decade in the business), Bronson struck a deal with Cannon Films and made a run of action B-flicks.

What if it were the other way around?

I wish Heston had played the lead in the following movies-
SAMSON AND DELILAH
QUO VADIS
DETECTIVE STORY
KING SOLOMON'S MINES
SHANE
VALLEY OF THE KINGS

I am with you on 'Samson and Delilah' and 'King Solomon's Mines', but I am not very sure of what Chuck would do in the role of Marcus Viniscus in 'Quo Vadis'. He is an important character, but is he the 'hero' of the movie? He does not do much more than playing an initially libertine but good-natured lover, who has some prominence in the military sphere, and who gradually becomes a devoted husband to a Christian girl, and tries his best to save her, and some others with a humanitarian zeal. 'Quo Vadis' is a diffrerent sort of epic where we have a time-period, a concept, an overwhelming sense of spiritual journey as a wayout from the bindings of toture in imperial Rome, and humanity at large as 'hero',--- not any single human being.

Anyway, that is only my personal opinion.

How about Chuck as Robert Taylor's replacement in "Ivanhoe"??? That would have been great!

On the other hand I wouldn't wish him a role in "Knights of the Round Table"! What a dud.....with the exception of yet another superb score by Miklos Rozsa, who wrote an even better score for "Ivanhoe"

Trailer for ANTICHRIST or more properly THE ANTI-CHRIST (1979) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfWPjg7NfIU

Yes, there's no such film in our reality - imagines what might have been if Chuck Heston and William Shatner were in the same horror film in the late seventies (along with a few other stars). Just FYI, this stitches together scenes from several films, for laughs; watch the credits near the end, when Heston's role is explained

btw, Thorn, I was curious why we can no longer post youtube videos here - have we reached some kind of limit? Has the capability been erased or changed somehow? I've noticed this the past month or so. :-?

I have no idea, I have experienced it myself and just thought I did something wrong. Maybe there's a new tag that needs to be added to the forum or something. I'll check it out.

So it is, I have also checked it. `Do we need to rearrange some softwares that support the forum, to post videos again?

I didn't really expect to continue this thread, but a certain site (https://www.behance.net/gallery/1608836 ... ed-Vol-III) which presents reworked movie posters - re-imagining films from recent times as if they had been done in the sixties and seventies - has finally revised their PULP FICTION poster with Heston's name spelled correctly (see page 8 on this thread for the old poster with the name spelled wrong):
_______ Image

But, the big news is their version of MAN OF STEEL (a.k.a.Superman), if it had been done in the sixties:

________ Image

LOL - Reagan as Zod..! Also, I can't picture Orson Welles doing the same physical action which Russell Crowe did
in the real version a few years ago; as with the other poster, I figure this one is supposedly from about 1964.
