CRASH LANDING: The Rescue of Flight 232 (1992)

This movie is based on a true story of the United Airlines Flight 232 from Denver to Chicago on 19 July, 1989.. The plane crashed during an emergency landing at the Sioux City Airport. About 180 people survived!

I salute the rescue team, the crew memebers and the passenagers aboard the Flight 232.

This movie I haven't seen. If I remember correctly it's available on DVD, so I'll have to add it to my collection.

Yea, I got my DVD copy via amazon.de a couple months ago. It was released on Feb 2010. The title is "Katastrophenflug 232"with both English speaking version and German speaking version.

I assume then, that there's no American version released? That's too bad. God bless the Germans though, they know how to release some fine films that no other country releases.

This is one that seems to have slipped under the radar as far as what I know about it or I just forgot all about it.

I'll have to look into it... :sherlock:

As far as I knew, there was only one American released via VHS format around 1996. The title is "A Thousand Heres (1992)". A DVD (Region 2) was released sometime after 1996 from Spain. The title is "A Thousand Heroes ( Crash Landing: The Rescue of Flight 232 )"  :(

Thank you CHfan, I have not heard of it anywhere else. You have a wonderful capability of surprising us. I need to look into it.

Memorable quotes:

Capt. Al Haynes: Okay, folks. Brace! Brace! Brace!
Chris Porter: 232, looking good, Sir! And be advised that there is nothing but open field at the end of the runway, so ROLL-OUT will not be a problem!

Reporter: How did it feel to save that boy?
Lt. Colonel Dennis Nielsen: God saved that boy, I just CARRIED him
